Meet the Doc
Dr. Young is a mother of one, and originally from St. Paul, Minnesota.
Her interest in natural healing began at a very early age. As early as elementary school, she could often be found with a roll of soft paper, and tape, practicing her athletic wrapping on her friends' imaginary aches and pains.
She began studying integrative medicine when she moved to Boulder, Colorado in the late 90’s to attend university.
She was fascinated by how yoga and martial arts classes, along with herbal medicine, massage, chiropractic care, and acupuncture therapy helped deepen her breath capacity and gave her laser focus with studies.
In 2006, after several years of work as a massage therapist, and world travels, she settled down in Santa Cruz, California and began her formal training in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
She attended integrative medical school at the number one rated TCM school in the nation at the time (currently still in the top 5) and received private instruction from several of the world’s most celebrated herbal and acupuncture masters (also MDs).
She accumulated thousands of hours with patients to graduate with her doctorate and is here to help you live your best life!
In 2009 she was blessed with her beautiful baby girl, by 2012, she'd graduated with a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and in 2019, earned her clinical Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Both degrees are from the world-renowned, Five Branches University.
She cherishes her family, and can be found soaking in hot springs, swimming, lounging, & biking around Folsom lake, on the ART, foraging at a gem show or at one of our many local farmer's markets.
In her personal time, Dr. Young is a voracious reader, an avid yogini, and is currently working on coding educational mobile apps.
She engages with a wide-ranging network of medical practitioners; some purely eastern or western, but mostly integrative medical practitioners such as herself, both on the net and within our local community.
A team player, she is able to identify potential red flags and will not hesitate to recommend you visit appropriate professionals, as needed, in order to support your optimal well-being.
